TOKYO – September 25, 2025 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (TSE Prime: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that along with its Japan Travel SIM prepaid SIM cards providing mobile data communication service to visitors to Japan and temporary returnees, Japan Travel SIM/Digital (eSIM) will be made available from Wednesday, October 1 and thereafter at MINISTOP Loppi multimedia terminals, located in nationwide MINISTOP convenience stores.

Japan Travel SIM/Digital (eSIM) can be used for dedicated data communication service in the NTT Docomo 4G (LTE) and 3G service areas throughout Japan. (*) The lineup consists of seven plans in all, with communication capacities from 3 GB to 55 GB (each usable for up to 30 days). After purchasing a plan at a nearby store, performing an online procedure, and activating the eSIM on their mobile device, customers are immediately able to use data communication.

  • (*)Note that 3G service will no longer be provided after March 31, 2026.

MINISTOP stores will continue to sell prepaid SIM products in selectable POSA card format, while making Japan Travel SIM/Digital (eSIM) available at MINISTOP Loppi terminals. Customers in need of data communication service will thus be able to obtain it readily even if POSA cards are temporarily out of stock.
