We outline the IEC 62608-1 Ed.2.0:2025-based framework for comprehensive home-network monitoring and configuration management—defining the logical roles of Configurator and Agent, extending coverage to wireless LAN and cloud-hosted service servers, and describing the multi-stakeholder standardization process (including IEC TC 100/WG31, JEITA, TTC, and IETF/ITU interactions)—and we present the future directions for resilient, interoperable home-network operations.
IIJ evaluated Open Rack v2 (ORv2) in production—examining power efficiency, rack utilization, procurement/maintenance implications, and operability—then performed an ORv3 proof-of-concept after seeing the ecosystem mature at the OCP Global Summit (2024) and proceeded to commercial ORv3 deployment in 2025 in its own data centers, adopting design choices such as 48V centralized power, 700 mm rack width, two-nodes-per-2OU chassis, and high rack-fill practices while limiting OCP deployments to sites IIJ operates.
Based on IIJ’s proof-of-concept, this article explains the “data space” concept—a framework for secure, trust-based data sharing that preserves data sovereignty, enabling decentralized collaboration without relying on centralized platforms.
